Introduction
Items in the system may be moved to draft status if a user doesn't complete the saving process. This article outlines the conditions under which an item becomes a draft and how to manage such items.
Why Are Items Listed as Draft?
Items can be listed as Draft when a user doesn't save the item. This can happen when:
- The user leaves the screen by selecting another tab
- The user logs out of the system
- The user closes the browser
- There is an interruption in the internet service
What Happens When a Draft Is Canceled?
When a user adds or copies an item and then selects the "cancel" option, they are presented with the following message: "Are you sure you want to delete this draft item?" with options to OK or Cancel.
- If OK is selected: The draft is not saved.
- If Cancel is selected: The draft is saved.
Managing Draft Items
The user can choose to edit or delete items in draft status. If the Draft button indicates a number greater than 0, the user should review the item to confirm whether it was previously left unsaved and take appropriate action.
- Edit the draft to complete and save the item.
- Delete the draft if it is no longer needed.
