KEV cannot refund donations.
The district needs to issue the cheque since the funds were collected by the district, unless the district transferred the donation funds to the school, then the school would issue the cheque.
The receipt does not get “voided/cancelled”.
Canadian Clients
The district will have to inform the "donor" that their receipt is void and cannot be submitted to CRA or send a letter/email to the “donor” to retract the receipt.
The district should make a note of all void/cancelled donations for their records in case of audit by CRA.
American Clients
