QUESTION: 

Can the Receipt Tax be edited on a receipt after the transaction has been posted?  

 

 

The Receipt Tax Edit journal entry is available to assist with editing any receipt that should have been marked “Taxable” when the receipt was created.  

 

PROCESS: 

From   JE’s  > Edits > Receipt Tax Edit


  1. Enter the Receipt Number of the transaction to be corrected and click the Display key.
  2. The detail lines of the check or receipt will be displayed in the grid.
  3. Click the Edit button for the detail line to be edited.  
  4. Click the Taxable box, then click the Update Tax button.
  5. A message is displayed to click the Save Receipt button.
  6. IMPORTANT: You must click on the Save Receipt button in order to update the Tax Amount on the receipt.  


When the Save Receipt button is clicked, the Journal Entry Proof Sheet is displayed and the receipt is updated.

Be sure to click on the printer icon to print the journal entry proof sheet for your records.
