QUESTION:

How do you create a Return Check Letter to request repayment of a returned check?

 

PROCESS:

From JE’s > Returned Check 

Once the proof sheet has printed to record the Returned Check chargeback item, an option is available to create a Returned Check Letter suitable for mailing in a standard window envelope.

After the Returned Check JE “ N “ JE Proof sheet has printed, the Create Returned Check letter option becomes visible on the screen.

  1. Enter Name, Address, City, State, and Zip Code of the person to receive the letter.

  2. The standard SFO letter text will be displayed in the message box and can be edited, if desired.

    • “Your check submitted to our school in the amount of <check amount > has been returned for reasons of insufficient funds.   Please contact the school office at <school phone # >  to resolve this matter as soon as possible.  “

    • The school phone # inserted into this text is from the school information on the User, My Profile screen. 

  3. Click the Create Returned Check Letter button

  4. Your letter will appear in the preview area in the lower portion of screen.

  5. Click the Printer icon to print.
