Overview

This article provides instructions for completing purchases directly through SchoolCash POS, allowing users to process transactions on the device by selecting items, reviewing the order, and finalizing the payment method.


Before you begin

  • Payments can be collected by Visa, Mastercard, and AMEX for US transactional clients only.
  • Visa and Mastercard can be used by tap, insert, swipe, or manual entry, including Interac in Canada, and by digital wallet such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • AMEX can be used by tap, insert, swipe, or manual entry, and by digital wallet such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Manual card entry must be enabled before you can use the manual entry option during payment.


Make purchases directly through SchoolCash POS

  1. After the item or items have been added to the device, select all items being purchased.
  2. Select Review Order to continue to checkout.
  3. Review the order details. When the order is confirmed, select Pay.
  4. Ask the purchaser to complete the purchase using their preferred payment method.
  5. If the purchaser wants to enter card details manually, select the card icon in the top right.
    • A new screen opens with the Enter Card Number field.
    • Note: Manual entry must be enabled to access this option.
  6. If a receipt is needed, select Print Receipt.
    • An itemized receipt is printed.
  7. When the transaction is complete, select Done.

Payment options

Visa and Mastercard can be used by:

  • Tap
  • Insert
  • Swipe
  • Manual entry, including Interac in Canada
  • Digital wallet, including Apple Pay and Google Pay

AMEX can be used by:

  • Tap
  • Insert
  • Swipe
  • Manual entry
  • Digital wallet, including Apple Pay and Google Pay

Outcome

You can complete purchases directly through SchoolCash POS by selecting items, reviewing the order, collecting payment, printing a receipt if needed, and finishing the transaction on the device.


Troubleshooting

  • You cannot continue to checkout - Make sure all items being purchased are selected, then select Review Order.
  • You do not see the manual card entry screen - Select the card icon in the top right and confirm that manual entry is enabled.
  • The purchaser wants a receipt - Select Print Receipt to print an itemized receipt before closing the transaction.
  • The transaction appears complete but the screen is still open - Select Done to finish the transaction.
