Overview

Users can redeem SchoolCash Point of Sale (POS), SchoolCash Online and SchoolCash Register receipts (in printed or digital form) directly using the built-in scanning functionality on the POS device.


Users are not required to be logged into SchoolCash no longer require another device (e.g. mobile/cell phone) when redeeming receipts.

Before you begin
  • Permissions: Users must have access to the POS device for receipt redemption.
    • SchoolCash account or login is not required.
  • Prerequisites: A receipt must be generated by SchoolCash (Online, Register, or POS) and a purchase executed from your own school catalog. You cannot redeem a receipt from a device assigned to another school.
  • Clover devices are not compatible with this new feature.

Steps

  1. From the POS device Home Screen, tap SCAN RECEIPT.

  2. The word SCANNING displays on the screen.

    • The device’s laser is automatically activated and remains active for 10 seconds.

    • If the laser requires reactivation, tap SCAN on the screen or press the SCAN button on the left side of the device.

  3. Scan the QR code of the receipt or tap Enter Receipt Number to type manually.

  4. Review the receipt details.

  5. Select item(s) to redeem:

    • The item is selected automatically if there is only one item on the receipt.

    • Multiple items are not automatically selected (a green outline appears).

    • By default, only one quantity of each item is selected. Select + or to adjust the quantity.

    • The counter at the bottom left updates with the total quantity (for example, if quantity is increased to 3, the counter will display 3).

    • To deselect an item, tap the item again. The green outline is removed.

  6. Tap REDEEM.

  7. Tap SCAN ANOTHER RECEIPT to scan another receipt or tap HOME to return to the POS Home Screen.

Outcome

The receipt is verified, and selected items are redeemed. Redeemed items are displayed in the Recently Redeemed section for tracking.

Additional Information

  • Failed Scan - Tap TRY AGAIN or HOME.
  • Receipt Already Redeemed - Items are marked as redeemed and are no longer be selectable.
  • Partial Redemption - Only remaining quantity is shown and redeemable.
